Dyana Gaye was born in Paris in 1975. She is graduated in film studies at Paris 8 - St Denis University in 1997. In 1999, she wins the Louis Lumière - Villa Médicis Hors les murs grant for her script « Une femme pour Souleymane » she will direct the year after. In 2004, she is finalist of the Rolex Mentor and Protege Arts Initiative 's grant for her feature film project.
