IN THE PALACE`s FILMER FORGE PITCH is designed for filmmakers, writers and producers seeking production, co-production, funding, and development opportunities for their current or upcoming short film. It includes an educational module on how to pitch a film project led by international facilitators; a project pitching session; and formal and informal networking with accredited film industry representatives.

Each project team/representative have a fixed time to present their project and answer questions raised by the panel and the professional audience. The competition is focused on the originality of the concept, the artistic and production potential of the project, and on how convincing was the pitch itself.

The Pitching Trainer of 2026 FILMER FORGE PITCH is Sarah Schlüssel. A cultural worker and film programmer, she heads the Short Form Station of Berlinale Talents, and is a member of the Berlinale Shorts selection committee.

As an award, FILMER FORGE presents a 6 000 euro financial grant for production expenses. Additionally, our partners, MIDPOINT Institute, are generously providing a special opportunity for FILMER FORGE PITCH participants: one spot on the selection shortlist for MIDPOINT Shorts 2026-2027 will be granted to one of the awarded projects.
