Roxani Varela is 26 years old. She studied Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens but has always had a strong interest in cinema. At the age of 22, she began working in television and later moved into film, initially joining the camera department before shifting her focus toward production design. Over time, she has taken on a variety of roles across departments, gaining a well-rounded understanding of the collaborative work required to make a film. In 2023, she completed the directing seminar at FilmSchool, as well as a screenwriting workshop. The Island of Aphrodite is her thesis film.
