Riina spends her days managing a graveyard. She meticulously tends to every detail on the day she will complete her goal of burying 1000 bodies. Setbacks arise and Riina takes matters into her own hands, only to face another blow when the 1000th funeral is unexpectedly canceled. Devastated, she unknowingly completes her goal as she falls into the empty grave.

Nevena Semova is an independent producer and director based between Bulgaria and Estonia. Her directorial debut “1000” had its world premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in November 2023, while her previous projects as producer have been presented at festivals like Clermont-Ferrand, FEST, WildDogs, In the Palace and Uşak Film Festival. Nevena received a Baltic MEDIA Producers Award (Baltic Pitching Forum 2022) and was selected to the New Producers Room at Cannes Film Festival 2023.
