In the midst of the Irish famine, a father and daughter battle for survival. Confronted with the harsh consequences of eviction and hunger, the father aligns himself with a band of 'wreckers' who demolish the homes of ousted tenants on behalf of a landlord. As the young girl strives to uncover the reality behind their means of sustenance during these trying times, she must come to terms with her father's decisions and stand up for her convictions.

Martina McGlynn is an IFTA winning producer/director from County Offaly Ireland.

She has an extensive film and documentary career including the award winning ‘Who is Dervla

Murphy’, ‘The Secret Market’ and ‘A Nightingale Falling’. ‘Wrecker’ is her solo directorial debut. Her Her most recent documentary as producer ‘Nothing To Declare’ had an incredible festival run

including wins at The Galway Film Fleadh and IFI Documentary Festival. It was selected for DOC NYC’s prestigious shortlist in 2021 and resulted in an acquisition by The New Yorker magazine in January 2022.
