The Hold

Hi! I'm Jonny, a London-based director lucky to be making films about people much more interesting than myself. After studying languages and film history at university, I began working in commercials and branded content, and simultaneously developed a love of documentary storytelling and techniques. My first independent short, Thrown Away Child (2022), told the story of Louise Allen, an artist who slipped through the cracks of the care system as an adopted child and had to fight her way out to pursue her dream of becoming an artist.
