Best Short Fiction Margot Budzyna USA, Fiction, 11’51’’

A slew of young auditionees litter an empty warehouse as they prepare for an unorthodox audition. Among them is Thea, a hesitant young hopeful in pursuit of a coveted spot in an elite acting program. As the audition progresses, she must pass through a series of three tests; surrender, assimilation and risk. Her willingness is increasingly challenged as she’s asked to abandon her sense of autonomy and conventional morality. But when the coveted list is posted, will the price she paid be worth it?
