“Furrow” is a palimpsest of the Macedonian folk tale “Siljan the Stork”. The film goes beyond the theme of cultural identity, as self-awareness about belonging to a particular group.
In order to rise to the self-reflection of the spirit, a child meets his own doubled self-reflection into the form of the stork to get rid of the daily cared for and rises to the heights of the free, the creative opportunities.
A film about a hero - the rising spirit - in different statuses.

Nayden Nikolov was born on December 15, 1970, in Ruse. He studied animation with Proyko Proykov and Anton Trayanov. In 2021, after returning from Portugal, he founded the production company "Meristem Film". He works entirely on authors projects. In 2021, he won a support from NFC for the film “Furrow,” in 2023-“Sisi theShuttlecock ,” and in 2025 for “The Girl Without Hands.”
