"Butterfly" takes us inside an orphanage in Bijela, Montenegro, where children are given cameras for the first time. What began as a joyful introduction to film and an attempt to spark their desire for education grew into something deeper—a shared journey of hope, discovery, and the quiet strength of those longing to love, be loved, and belong.

Sara Stijović (b. 1997, Podgorica) is a Montenegrin film director with an MA from KinoEyes and a BA from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje. The first Montenegrin selected for La Fabrique Cinéma (Cannes '73), she is also a Sarajevo Talents alumna and Al Jazeera Ambassador. Her projects include the mini-series "Pray for Us" (Cinelink Drama 2024 Grand Prix) and the short "Sourdough", supported by the Film Centre of Montenegro. She programs the student section of the Herceg Novi Film Festival.
