PARTY UNTIL DAWN DURING THE IN THE PALACE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL IN PERNIK

Daily parties during the IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival!

The festivities kick off on June 27 with one of Belgrade’s top music curators and tastemakers – DJ FUNKcioner.

On June 28, the stage belongs to DJ Vasko Netkovski, who has been DJing professionally since the late '90s and has performed at numerous clubs and festivals both in Bulgaria and abroad, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the global electronic music scene.

DJ Funky Junkie is undoubtedly one of the most recognized names from Serbia in the global black dance sound movement. With 40 years in the DJ business, several digital releases, and two vinyls behind him, it's easier to list where he hasn’t played than where he has. He gained international fame with his Idi, Igraj! compilations, which spotlight disco, jazz, funk, and soul from the former Yugoslavia. He’ll be on stage on June 29.

The final DJ Party will be on June 30, featuring Soulvenia & Superflinda, who come from Ljubljana – the green capital of Slovenia in the heart of Central Europe. They are well-known members of the prominent Slovenian hip-hop collective GOR. Their global selection spans an impressive range of styles from all continents and reflects the sound of Radio Nula, a long-time festival partner.

And now, let's learn a bit more about our DJs!

DJ FUNKcioner - Belgrade born and raised organic music grooves afficionado, vinyl records collector turned DJ, one of Belgrade's finest music connoisseurs and curators mixing all those funk/soul/MPB/disco/house/afrobeat/ex YU rare groove/hip hop/jazzdance joints with everything in between. Join him for a ride through the “highest highs and the lowest lows” - as his idol george Clinton said,  “FUNK IS ITS OWN REWARD”

Vasko Netkovski / Vaso has always been a music lover. In the late 80’s he got in touch with Hip-Hop culture and fell in love with Rap music. Drum’n’Bass, Breakbeat, Big Beat, Trip Hop and, of course, Jazz music felt like logical progression in his music obsession. By adding more and more styles in his collection he slowly started thinking how it would feel playing that music, but never in a professional way. He started proper DJ-ing in the late 90’s and since then he has played in numerous clubs and festivals, both domestic and international, sharing the stage with the world’s biggest names from the electronic scene. Even though he's known for playing electronic music, for the last few years he developed a passion for collecting and playing music on 45's.

DJ Funky Junkie is certainly one of the most famous names from Serbia in the world as far as black dance sound is concerned. With 40 years in the DJ business, several digital releases and two records under his belt, it's easier to list where he hasn't performed than the clubs and festivals where he had gigs. He became famous all over the world for his compilations "Idi, igraj!" where he promoted disco, jazz, funk and soul from the former Yugoslavia. His biography includes performances with such greats as Dave Lee (Joey Negro), The Brand New Heavies, Faze Action, Jazzanova, Shuya Okino, DJ Alfredo, Hernan Cattaneo, Bob Sinclar, Aroop Roy, Amir and many others. He also plays music with his longtime friend DJ Ceka under the name "The Funk Soul Brothers". He was one of the organizers of the Nisomnia festival, he organized and was musical director of the "Midnight Jazzdance Stage" at the Nišville Jazz Festival. A great record collector, DJ, producer, organizer and promoter of many events in Serbia and the surrounding area, he continues to fight for quality and organic club sound.

Avid record collectors Soulvenia & Superflinda hail from Ljubljana, the green capital of Slovenia in the heart of South Central Europe. They represent Radio Nula sounds and are also known members of the notorious Slovenian hip-hop organization GOR. Their global selections span an impressively wide spectrum from all continents. Whether digging in crates or having fun behind the decks, Soulvenia and Superflinda are always exploring with an open mind and a love for sounds that cross borders and mix up different eras.
