Traugott
Portrait of a man who fled Nazi-Germany in 1934 to start a new life in Istanbul where he became a legendary teacher: Traugott Fuchs, who suffered from severe depression all of his life, left behind a unique and excessive legacy. Hundreds of paintings, thousands of drawings, poetry, diaries and an extensive collection of letters - among them several from world-class poet and author Hermann Hesse - were found in his apartment after he was hospitalized before his death. Almost ending up in the trash they were saved by close friends and finally shed a light on a fascinating man who also tried to embrace his gay identity.
