When the eccentric owner of a bustling nightclub keeps an eye on his business, his gaze falls on a mysterious lady dressed in red, whom he wants to make his own at all costs. While the other guests at the club lose themselves in decadence, the owner remains spellbound by the lady and his inner demons. Will he risk to loose it all?
Based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe in which a bloody pestilence manages to invade a masked ball inside a barricaded castle.

Rune Callewaert is a masterstudent of animation at KASK Ghent, Belgium. He specializes in stop motion animation, for which he designs and builds both puppets and decors. He often tries to achieve an absurd and dark, but also slightly humorous atmosphere whithin his films, while experimenting with different techniques to add to these different atmospheres. Themes surrounding art history, decadence and classical music feature frequently in his work.
