The Last of the Hand Weavers
Eddie Doherty is a modest and humble man who, at the age of 84, still carries on the tradition of hand weaving the Donegal Tweed fabrics at his small shop in Ardara, Co. Donegal, Ireland. He tells his story of starting hand weaving in the 1950's, how the once booming trade declined due to modern industrialisation and now only a few hand weavers remain. He gives his insight into the modern world, the changes he has seen over the years and what the future holds for the weaving tradition.
