Vessela Dantcheva is a producer, director and creative force behind some of the most popular independent Bulgarian animated shorts over the last 15 years. She is the locomotive behind Compote Collective, founded in 2008 and one of the leading animation production companies in Bulgaria at the moment for artistic and independent short films. 

The collective is a platform of animation artists with strong individual styles and a creative hub of more than 15 animation directors. Over the last 15 years the Collective has produced 17 short animated films, selected at + 650 international film festivals and acclaimed with more than 70 awards.

Vessela is also a lecturer in animation at New Bulgarian University and the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. She is frequently invited as a guest lecturer at various European universities, jury member of animation festivals and pitching events, member of national and international cultural organizations and advocate for Bulgarian animation talents.
