Peter Kardjilov (b. 1950) is PhD and DSc (Doctor of Sciences), a long-time researcher of history of early cinema, associate member (since 2012) of the Screen arts department at the Institute of art studies at the Bulgarian academy of sciences (BAS). Major fields of his scientific research: History of early cinema in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula. Author of over 3000 journalistic pieces, 160 scientific articles published in Bulgaria and abroad (USA, China, Rumania, Serbia, Macedonia) and 24 books, 12 of which are dedicated to the history of Bulgarian cinema.
