Ana Grgić (PhD, University of St Andrews) is Associate Professor at Babeș-Bolyai University and Associate Editor of Studies in World Cinema: A Critical Journal.. Her research focuses on Balkan and Eastern European cinema, visual culture and history. She is author of Early Cinema, Modernity and Visual Culture: The Imaginary of the Balkans (AUP, 2022) and co-editor of Contemporary Balkan Cinema: Transnational Exchanges and Global Circuits (EUP, 2020). She has co-edited a special issue on Albanian cinema for KinoKultura (2016), and “Women Cutting Movies: Editors from East and Central Europe” for Apparatus (2018).
