Aleksandra Chrapowicka / Александра Храповицка

Aleksandra Chrapowicka

She was born in Lodz in Poland. First she studied Graphics in the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, before she went on to study Animated Film and Special Film Effects in the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz.

Since 1998, she has worked at this Department as а lecturer. She has been an artistic adviser for a huge number of students’ films. She makes short animated movies for children. She has staged events for young audience, making animation to music which was mostly played live by the different Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland. Thanks to Erasmus mobility she had workshops in different universities like ESAD in Portugal and FAMU in Czech Republic.

 

Александра Храповицка

Родена е в Лодз, Полша. Първоначално учи Графика в Академията за изящни изкуства в Лодз, преди да продължи с изучаването на Анимационни филми и Специални филмови ефекти в Полското национално училище за филми, телевизия и театър в Лодз. От 1998 г. работи в там като преподавател. Била е артистичен консултант на многобройни студентски филми. Прави кратки анимирани филми за деца. Участва в организацията на събития за младата аудитория, правейки анимация към музиката, която се изпълнява на живо от различни филхармонични оркестри в Полша. Чрез програма Еразъм на Европейската комисия е водила уъркшопи в различни университети като ESAD в Португалия и FAMU в Чехия.

Blagoy D. Ivanov  / Благой Д. Иванов

Blagoy D. Ivanov

Blagoy D. Ivanov was born in 1980 in Sofia. He holds a MA degree in movie critics from the Bulgarian National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts "Krastyo Sarafov". Currently he works in Focus Radio as a host of the radio program "Storyboard". He wrote the non-fiction collection "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Ones" and co-created the comic book collection "Seven Urban Sins". Also, he is the author of "The Cellar" and "Krehar". In 2021 his first children book is released – "The Plush Adventure". Together with his colleagues from the website Operation Kino he is a co-founder of the project Inglourious Kunts – video podcast focused almost entirely on cinema. 

 

Благой Д. Иванов

Благой Д. Иванов е роден през 1980 г. в София. Завършва магистратура по кинознание в НАТФИЗ "Кръстьо Сарафов". В момента е част от екипа на радио "Фокус", където води кино предаването "Сториборд". Автор е на сборника "Добрите, лошите и грозните"и реализира комиксовата колекция от кратки новели "Седем градски гряха". Пише и художествени книги, романите "Мазето" и "Крехар", а през 2021 г. излиза от печат първата му детска книга – "Плюшеното приключение". Заедно с колегите си от специализирания сайт Operation Kino създава през 2015 г. видео подкаст, посветен на киното – Inglourious Kunts, който продължава да е активен и до днес.

Diane Malherbe / Диан Малерб

Diane Malherbe

Diane Malherbe was born in Clermont-Ferrand, France. In 1999, she joined the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. She was a PhD student in Art Culture Studies at the University of Montpellier, where she also obtained a Master's degree in Performing Arts & Entertainment. She worked for the distribution company "Some Like it Short" as a sales agent and later co-founded Kinoctambule, an International Laboratory for Short Films & Soundtracks Productions in 2014. Her last short film "The Washing Machine" received more than 65 official selections in 28 different countries and obtained 7 awards until now.

 

Диан Малерб

Даян Малерб е родена в Клермон-Феран, Франция. През 1999 г. се присъединява към Международния филмов фестивал за късометражни филми в Клермон-Феран. Има докторантура по Науки за културата на изкуството от университета Монпелие, където получава и магистърската си степен по Сценични изкуства и развлечения. Работила е за дистрибуторската компания "Some Like it Short". През 2014 г. е съосновател на Kinoctambule, международна лаборатория за късометражни филми и продукция на музикалното оформление. Последният й късометражен филм “Пералнята” до момента е получил над 65 официални селекции в 28 държави и 7 награди.

Dimitar Drinov / Димитър Дринов

Dimitar Drinov

Dimitar Drinov was born in 1980 in Sofia. Ever since he was a child, Dimitar has always been interested in cinema – he was a co-founder of an annual film program in his high school (High school 22, Georgi S. Rakovski). After graduating he continued his education, studying "Film directing and editing" in New Bulgarian University, while working as an usher in "Center" movie theater, under the management of Boyana film center.

From 2004 until the publication closed, Dimitar was working as a contributing author and editor in magazine "Ekran". In 2010 he established one of the most popular internet sites, dedicated to cinema - Operation Kino, where he serves as an editor-in-chief and contributor, as well as an executive producer on the Inglourious Kunts video podcast. Dimitar has worked as a coordinator on the independent film festival SoIndependent, where he has been in charge of the festival selection. Since 2017 he has worked as a PR professional for Forum Film Bulgaria - the official Disney, Universal, Paramount and MGM cinema distributor in Bulgaria. 

Dimitar can often be seen on TV or heard on the radio and different podcasts as a guest and contributor. He has served on different juries for the International Sofia Film Fest and Cinelibri festivals.

 

Димитър Дринов

Димитър Дринов е роден през 1980 г. в София.

Още от малък проявява интерес към киното – той е един от организаторите на ежегодна филмова програма в 22-ра гимназия, където завършва средното си образование. За висшето си образование учи режисура и монтаж в програмата "Кино и телевизия" в Нов български университет, като паралелно работи като разпоредител в кино "Център", стопанисвано от Киноцентър Бояна.

От 2004 г. е автор, а впоследствие и отговорен редактор в киносписание "Екран", до закриването му. През 2010 година създава един от най-популярните сайтове за кино Operation Kino, където е главен редактор и автор, както и изпълнителен продуцент на видеоподкаста Inglourious Kunts. Той е координатор и основен програматор на фестивала за независимо кино SoIndependent, а от 2017 г. е PR специалист във Форум Филм България, които са официалният разпространител на филмите на Disney, Universal, Paramount и MGM за България. 

Димитър е чест коментатор на кино теми в телевизии, радиа и подкасти и е бил част от журито в различни програми на фестивали като Международния София Филм Фест и Синелибри.

Don O'Mahony

Don O'Mahony is Senior Programmer with Cork International Film Festival, Ireland's most venerable film festival! Since becoming involved in the festival as part of their selection committee in 1999, Don has been in charge of the festival’s experimental programme, Free Radicals, since 2004. He has overseen the festival’s short film programming since 2016.

 

Дон О'Махони

Дон О’Махони е главен програматор на Международния филмов фестивал в Корк –  най-уважавания филмов фестивал в Ирландия. От 1999 г.е член на Селекционната комисия на фестивала. От 2004 г. Дон отговаря за програмата за експериментални филми "Свободни електрони". През 2016 г. поема програмацията на Късометражната програма на фестивала.

 

Emilia Stoeva / Емилия Стоева

Emilia Stoeva

Prof. Dr. Emilia Stoeva is a cinematographer with years of experience with more than 40 documentaries, documentaries, scientific popular, corporate and advertising films.

She teaches film and TV cinematography at NATFIZ "Krastyo Sarafov" and New Bulgarian University.

She has lectured at the University of the Arts in Porto and Maltepe University in Istanbul. Regular participant in international conferences and seminars. Member of the jury of a number of film festivals. Prof. Stoeva has over 50 published articles in specialized publications. Author of terminological dictionaries and publications in the field of cinema. Member of the National Commission for Documentary and Popular Science Cinema and the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers. Chairman of the Association "Akademika 21".

 

Емилия Стоева

Проф. д-р Емилия Стоева е кинооператор. В професионалната си биография има над 40 документални, документални, научно популярни, корпоративни и рекламни филма.

Преподава Филмово и телевизионно операторство в НАТФИЗ "Кръстьо Сарафов" и Нов български университет. Водила е лекции в Университета по изкуствата в Порто и Университета Maltepe в Истанбул. Редовен участник в международни конференции и семинари, както и член на жури на редица филмови фестивали. Проф. Стоева има над 50 публикувани статии в специализирани издания. Автор на терминологични речници и публикации в областта на киното. Член на Националната комисия за документално и научно-популярно кино, както и на Съюза на българските филмови дейци. Председател на Асоциация "Академика 21".

 

Emre Doğan / Емре Доган

Emre Doğan

He was born in 1991 in Istanbul. In 2010, he got into the Department of Radio, TV and Cinema at Ege University. In 2013, he shot the short film "Whitewash". He started his master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University, Film Design Department in 2014 and his doctorate in this department in 2016. In 2019, he wrote and directed the short film "In Infinite Time", "Multiple Choice" and "Eleji: Efeler". He received his doctorate with his thesis on the relationship between cinema and philosophy of science in 2021. Formerly an assistant professor in Istanbul Gelisim University, Radio, TV and Cinema department in 2021, he is appointed as the head of the department in 2022.

Faisal Qureshi / Файзал Куреши

Faisal Qureshi

Faisal Qureshi is a producer and scriptwriter with over 20+ years in the industry. His short film work has screened at Bucheon, Huesca, London and Leeds that led him to mentor filmmakers in Pakistan, Syria and Uzbekistan. When not focusing on his own work, Faisal has worked on films and documentaries such as the BAFTA award winning feature FOUR LIONS (Film4/Warp Films), the BAFTA and Emmy award winning documentary LEAVING NEVERLAND (Channel 4/HBO/AMOS Productions) as well as IN THE SHADOW OF 9/11 (PBS Frontline/Channel 4/AMOS Productions) and the comedy THE DAY SHALL COME (See-Saw/Film 4/BFI). He is also a researcher and has worked on shows such as LOADED, SUCCESSION, TRAINWRECK: WOODSTOCK '99 and THE MOST HATED MAN ON THE INTERNET. He is a visiting lecturer at the Escula Internacional Cine y TV in Cuba.

Файзал Куреши е продуцент и сценарист с над 20-годишен опит в индустрията. Неговите късометражни филми са прожектирани в Бучеон, Уеска, Лондон и Лийдс. Става ментор на режисьори в Пакистан, Сирия и Узбекистан. Когато не е съсредоточен върху собствената си работа, Файзал е работил по продукции като отличения с награда BAFTA FOUR LIONS, документалния филм, отличения с наградите BAFTA и Emmy LEAVING NEVERLAND (Channel 4/HBO/AMOS Productions ), както и В СЯНКАТА НА 11 септември (PBS Frontline/Channel 4/AMOS Productions) и комедията ДЕНЯТ ЩЕ ДОЙДЕ (See-Saw/Film 4/BFI). Като рисърчър е работил за предавания като LOADED, SUCCESSION, TRAINWRECK: WOODSTOCK '99 и THE MOST HATED MAN ON THE INTERNET.

Ivan Popov-Zaeka / Иван Попов-Заека

Ivan Popov-Zaeka

Ivan Popov, who almost everybody calls Zaeka ("The Rabbit"), is a film director and creative leader with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of animation and advertising. Throughout this time he has worked on major campaigns for leading international brands, directed a number of animated short films and designed immersive visuals and SFX concepts for music videos and dance performances. His creative output includes more than 100 animated videos.In 2013 Ivan founded ROBO Lab, which has grown to become a leading animation and post-production studio on the Bulgarian market. He also holds a master’s degree in Movie Animation from New Bulgarian University and a marine captain’s license.

 

Иван Попов-Заека

Иван Попов, когото почти всички наричат "Заекa", е режисьор и творчески директор с повече от 20 години опит в сферите на анимацията и рекламата. Работил е по ключови рекламни кампании на водещи международни компании, автор е на късометражни филми и е правил видео инсталации и визуални ефекти за музикални клипове и танцови спектакли. Режисирал е над 100 анимационни видеа.През 2013 г. Иван основава ROBO Lab, което постепенно се превръща в едно от водещите студиа за анимация и пост-продукция на българския пазар. Има магистърска степен по анимационно кино от Нов български университет и диплом за капитан на ветроходна яхта.

 

Levente Galambos / Левенте Галамбош

Levente Galambos

Born in 1997. He studies at the German Nationality High School in Budapest with a bilingual education, specializing in physics. He is a bachelor student in mechatronic engineering at TU Budapest. His specialization is in optomechatronics and his thesis is on "Development and implementation of distortion measurement for cameras". He is a cameraman and editor at Kármán Studio, TU and at weareEnigma, Budapest. He is also a lecturer on courses about editing and cinematography. Since 2021 he is a self-employed cinematographer, lighting technician and camera technician for short films, music videos, feature films.

 

Левенте Галамбош

Роден e през 1997 г. Учи от 2012 г. до 2017 г. в Националната немска гимназия в Будапеща със специализация по физика с двуезично обучение. Завършва бакалавърска степен по мехатронно инженерство в Техническия университет в Будапеща. Пише дипломна работа на тема "Разработка и изпълнение на измерването на камерната дисторсия". Специализира оптомехатроника. Работи като оператор и монтажист в "Карман студио" в Техническия университет в Будапеща. Лектор е в курсове по монтаж и кинематография. От 2018 г. до 2020 г. е оператор и монтажист в "weareEnigma", Будапеща. От 2021 г. е оператор, техник по осветлението и камерата на свободна практика.

Onur Keşaplı /Онур Кешаплъ

Onur Keşapli

Onur Keşaplı was born in İzmir in 1986. He shot his first short films at American Collegiate Institute. He graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication in 2008. In 2012, he completed his master's degree in Film Design at Dokuz Eylül University. He received his Ph.D in 2019 in Radio, Television and Cinema at Ege University. He has been a director, writer and producer of many short films, documentaries, TV shows and a jury at national and international film festivals. He works as an academician and lecturer at Uşak University, Faculty of Communication since 2013 and he is the founder of The International Uşak Short Film Festival since 2014.

Онур Кешаплъ е роден в Измир през 1986 г. Снима първите си късометражни филми в American Collegiate Institute. Завършва факултета по Комуникации в университета Анадолу през 2008. През 2012 г. получава магистърската си степен по Филмов дизайн в университета "Dokuz Eylül". Завършва докторантурата си през 2019 г. по Радио, телевизия и кино в университета Еге. Режисьор, сценарист и продуцент на много късометражни и документални филми и ТВ предавания. Жури на различни филмови фестивали. От 2013 г. преподава във факултета по Комуникации в университета Ушак. През 2014 г. основава Международния фестивал за късометражно кино Uşak.

Phaedra Vokali / Федра Вокали

Phaedra Vokali

Phaedra Vokali studied Piano, Economics and Architecture Theory in Athens and Film in University College London. In 2012 she took on Marni Films as a managing director, completing numerous films as a producer. In 2020, she co-founded Late Bloomers production company. She is an EAVE Producers Workshop alumnus as well as Torino Film Lab alumnus. Her films (Suntan, Afterlov and more) have been awarded and screened in many international film festivals. Phaedra is a member of the Feminist Autonomous Centre for Research in Athens. She is an Artworks fellow and recently completed her first short film as a writer/director, titled Enomena.

Федра Вокали е изучавала Пиано, икономика и теория на архитектурата в Атина и Кино в University College в Лондон. През 2012 г. поема компанията Marni Films като управляващ директор, реализирайки многобройни филми като продуцент. През 2020 г. става съосновател на продуцентската компания Late Bloomers. Тя е възпитаник на EAVE Producers Workshop, както и на Torino Film Lab. Филмите й (Suntan, Afterlov и др.) са показвани и награждавани на много международни филмови фестивали. Член е на Феминисткия автономен център за изследвания в Атина и е сътрудник на Artworks. Завършеният наскоро Enomena, е първият ѝ късометражен филм като сценарист и режисьор.

Rastko Ćirić / Растко Чирич

Rastko Ćirić

Born in 1955 in Belgrade, Serbia. Graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade in 1979, where he is also a retired professor of Illustration and Animation and a vice-rector. Founder of the subject of Animation at the FAA, Belgrade and the FAA Animation Studio (2006). Illustrated for the New York Times Book Review (2002-2004). Founder and editor of the book edition and magazine Signum of the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade (2006). Author of the concept and music of the conceptual multimedia project The Rubber Soul Project dedicated to the Beatles. Founder and Art Director of six Festivals of European Student Animation (FESA) in Belgrade (2012 - 2017).

 

Растко Чирич

Роден e през 1995 г. в Белград, Сърбия. През 1979 г. завършва Факултета по приложни изкуства (FAA) на Университета по изкуства в Белград. Пак там преподава Илюстрация и Анимация и е бил заместник-ректор. Основател на дисциплината Анимация и Анимационното студио на FAA (2006). Илюстратор за New York Times Book Review (2002-2004). Основател и редактор на книжното издание и списание Signum на Факултета за приложни изкуства в Белград (2006). Автор на идеята и музиката на концептуалния мултимедиен проект The Rubber Soul Project, посветен на Бийтълс. Основател и арт-директор на шест издания на Festivals of European Student Animation в Белград (2012 - 2017).

 

Vasiliki Maltasoglou / Василики Малтасоглу 

Vasiliki Maltasoglou 

Vasiliki Maltasoglou is Festival Director of Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival and co-founder of the organization Balkans Beyond Borders. She is specialized in Digital Communication and Storytelling undertaking storytelling and short film inspired workshops to adults and teenagers. In Balkans Beyond Borders she directs the Festival, realizes workshops on filmmaking and storytelling, and curates all screenings and cultural events of BBB. Also, she has been Jury member in several short film festivals such as BUZAU and Aegean Film Festival. All her actions are linked with her passion for creativity and communication.

 

Василики Малтасоглу 

Василики Малтасоглу е директор на Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival и съосновател на организацията Balkans Beyond Borders. Специализира Цифрови комуникации и сторителинг. Провежда семинари за разказване на истории и късометражни филми за възрастни и тийнейджъри. В компанията Balkans Beyond Borders тя организира и провежда уъркшопите за производство на филми и сторителинг, а също курира прожекциите и културните събития. Била е член на журито на няколко фестивала за късометражно кино като BUZAU и Aegean Film Festival. Всичките дейности, с които се занимава, са обусловени от страстта ѝ към креативността и комуникациите.

Vítězslav Chovanec / Витеслав Чованец

Vítězslav Chovanec

Graduated from Film and Audio-Visual Culture Studies at Masaryk University in Brno. During his studies he worked for Czech Television as an assistant dramaturge. Since 2010, he worked for several film festivals including Cinema Mundi, Karlovy Vary IFF, Ji.hlava IDFF or Mezipatra IQFF. As a journalist, Vítězslav has contributed to various Czech outlets including 25fps, Film a doba, and he is still writing for Cinepur, where he also handle production and distribution of the magazine. He is also a member of programming team of One World Human Rights Film Festival in Prague. In September 2017, he joined the team of the Czech Film Center, a division of Czech Film Fund, where he is responsible for promotion and festival distribution of Czech documentary and short films abroad.

 

Витеслав Чованец

Завършва филмови науки и аудио-визуална култура в Университета Масарик в Бърно. По време на следването си работи в Чешката телевизия като асистент драматург. От 2010 г. работи за няколко филмови фестивала, включително Cinema Mundi, Karlovy Vary IFF, Ji.glava IDFF и Mezipatra IQFF. Като журналист, Витеслав е работил за различни чешки издания като 25fps, Film a doba, и все още пише за Cinepur, където е ангажиран и с производството и разпространението на списанието. Член е на програмния екип на One World Human Rights Film Festival в Прага. През септември 2017 г. се присъединява към екипа на Чешкия филмов център, подразделение на Чешкия филмов фонд, където отговаря за промотирането и фестивалното разпространение на чешки документални и късометражни филми в чужбина.

Vladislav Apostolov / Владислав Апостолов 

Vladislav Apostolov 

Vladislav Apostolov is a film journalist and author, whose work has appeared in almost all major national media outlets in Bulgaria, and has been translated abroad. He writes and speaks about cinema in print, radio and TV. He has also been part of two online film podcasts, products of the websites Operationkino.net and Webcafe.bg.

He is a culture editor in the national newspaper Trud News, а regular guest on film topics for the weekend morning show of the leading national TV station bTV, and has a culture commentary slot on thе waves of Bulgarian National Radio.

Vladislav has written hundreds of articles and film reviews, published in various bulgarian magazines. He has covered the festivals in Cannes and Venice and has interviewed many film figures, from Francis Ford Coppola to Luc Besson.

He absolutely loves film noir and some solid screen satire.

 

Владислав Апостолов 

Владислав Апостолов е филмов журналист и автор, чиято работа е публикувана в почти всички големи български медии и е била превеждана в чуждестранни издания. Той пише и говори за кино в печата, радиото и телевизията. Участвал е и в два подкаста, продукти на сайтовете Operationkino.net и Webcafe.bg.

Той е културен редактор в националния всекидневник Труд News, редовен гост за филмови теми в телевизия bTV и има коментарна рубрика в Българското национално радио.

Владислав е автор на стотици статии и филмови ревюта, публикувани в множество списания и сайтове. Отразявал е фестивалите в Кан и Венеция и има интервюта с десетки филмови фигури, от Франсис Форд Копола до Люк Бесон.

Обожава film noir и всяка солидна екранна сатира.

Vlado Srbinovski / Владо Сърбиновски 

Vlado Srbinovski

Vlado Srbinovski is a founder and President of BALKANIA. His purpose is to restore the positive image of the Balkans in the public eye and promote its exceptional cultural, natural and historical heritage. With Balkania he initiates and supports many tourism activities on local, national, and regional level, while focusing on projects to develop human capacity in the field of tourism, sustainable economic development and education. He had been an Advisor in the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism of Macedonia. For the past 6 years continually a member of the jury in “On The East Coast Europe”- International Tourism Film Festival in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.

Владо Сърбиновски 

Владо Сърбиновски е основател и президент на "Балкания". Целта му е да възстанови положителния имидж на Балканите и да популяризира изключителното им културно, природно и историческо наследство. С "Балкания" той инициира много туристически дейности на местно национално и регионално ниво, като същевременно се фокусира върху проекти за развитие на човешкия капацитет в областта на туризма, устойчивото икономическо развитие и образованието. Бил е съветник в Агенцията за насърчаване и подкрепа на туризма на Македония. През последните 6 години е член на журито на "На източния бряг на Европа"- Международен фестивал на туристическия филм във Велико Търново, България.

Bulgarian and foreign filmmakers, writers and producers who seek producing, co-producing, funding, and development opportunities for their current or upcoming short film are invited to apply for the FILMER FORGE PITCH. The most promising projects will have the opportunity to take part in the PITCHING DAY 2.

 

  • THE PITCH

Each project team/representative will have up to 7 minutes to present their project and answer questions from the jury.

 

The order, in which the representatives pitch their projects, will be randomly selected. 

Every project, in each phase, must be pitched in English!

 

PITCHING DAY 1: Bulgarian projects only.

 

PITCHING DAY 2: PITCHING DAY 1 winning Bulgarian projects + International projects.

 

  • ONE-TO-ONE MEETINGS

The program includes One-to-one meetings in 2 phases after the TWO PITCHING DAYS:

 

1st phase: Speed dating with pitching panelists. To ensure that all projects receive feedback, the programme is initiating “speed dating” meetings between projects’ representatives and each jury member from the FILMER FORGE PITCH.

 

2nd phase (if there is an interest): Meetings with potentially interested collaborators.

 

  • WHO CAN APPLY?

Film professionals who seek producing, co-producing, funding, and development opportunities for their upcoming short film.

 

Short film projects in pre-production stage are accepted.

Short film projects in any genre are eligible to apply.

Secured funding by third parties is not an obligatory condition to submit a project.

Participants from all countries are eligible to submit a short film project.

 

  • REQUIRED MATERIALS

 

Please, provide us with a link to a zipped folder, titled by the name of the short film project, and containing the following materials:

 

1. Synopsis, treatment, and script.

2. Short biography, photo of director/writer and contacts (phone number and email).

3. Director's statement of artistic choices (image, sound, music, cast, etc.).

4. Production company: profile and selected filmography (if applicable).

5. Short biography and photo of producer and contacts (phone number and email).

6. Producer's statement and strategy for producing this film.

7. Confirmation of secured funding (letter of intent, positive notice, grant, etc.) - if applicable.

8. Any visuals (storyboard, locations, rough cut, animatic, etc.) that will support the application.

The winning Bulgarian, or international short film will be rewarded with 15 000 BGN in cash.
