Synopsis: Lucia Octavio boards a bus in the middle of a mountainous border town and wakes up naked when the bus arrives at the station. Confused and alone, yet determined and brave, Lucia confronts the attackers that threaten her.

Patricia Montoya draws on the impermanence of home, my bi-national and queer experience to create both narrative and non-fiction videos that address issues of migration, memory and identity through lyrical explorations of text, dialogue, theatrical adaptations, and the depiction of intimate human relations within the context of geographical landscapes. Her work has been shown in various film festivals and galleries in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Her most recent work, Cuando La Rumorosa Calla (When La Rumorosa Quiets, 17min, Mexico, 2020), has been warded a Silver Award, to Tonalli Magaña, for Best Sound Design, and Best Short Film Silver Award—Social Awareness at Queen Palm International Film Festival, Palm Springs, California; Winner of Best short in Voces Femeninas at the Festival de Cine Quetzal, Mexico; Best Short in Baja California, at the Ensenada Film Festival and Best Short in the Ni Una Menos category at the Human Rights Film Festival, Festival Humano, in Tijuana, MX, Best Short Narrative in the New York True Venture Film Festival; Best Short Latino (Narrative) at the Latino Film Market, New York; the Public Vote Award at AIVFF-Arts Film Festival, Cannes, 2020; Best Film Score and Best Song in a Film and Special Jury Mention Award for Memorable L-atino Individual Performance to Yunuen Rhi, at the MLC Awards and among others.
