Synopsis: After being dumped by the love of his life, a man driving a car narrates his past and last moments as he is determined to kill himself. The fate will play one last trick on him.

Tuomas Hakala, 32, is a Finnish director and cinematographer who recently graduated from a film school. He is currently living in Beijing, China, where he is freelancing for Finnish Broadcasting Company as a TV cameraman and editor. He is also working on commercial projects and movies on project basis and also producing his own short movies. Barren Island is his fifth short movie.
