Synopsis: Deep in Mongolia, among the free nomads of the north, lived a musician whose life was darken by a spell that made the rain each time he played. One day, the 'Wise Mother' talked to him : 'You will travel to the heart of the great desert, bury your instrument there, and let it be forgotten. Only then shall the spell be lifted'. The musician left to the desert but nothing happened as it was supposed to...Director: Giil Taws
Giil Taws is a movie director from Brittany (France). He has produced, wrote and directed both full length documentaries and fiction films. His first movies "Lundi" (Monday) was handling the subjet of drug addiciton while "Lóa" (shot in Iceland), his second movies, was dealing with dreams and had a sharp surrealistic edge. He collaborated with director of the photography Lubomir Backchev on those two movies. "The one who made it rain", his latest fiction work, was shot in Mongolia and produced in Iceland. It marked the beginning of his collaboration with director of the photography Istvan Borbas. Simultaneously, he directed a full length documentary "Gathering with the Men of Síða" which describes the shepherding of thousands of sheep with icelandic farmers from South-Iceland. He has also produced a serie of experimental movies such as "O'Chillin Konkern".
